tripadvisorStaged in the intimate Black Box theater, this Neil Simon play is sweet, nostalgic and super funny. Loved it and so did the rest of the audience. It reminds us all about getting out on our own, young love and appreciating individuality in each other, even when it’s so different from our own. Plays through Nov 4, 2018.
MoreI have seen Mary Poppins and Shrek at the Rochester Civic Theatre and both were fantastic. It is a small theatre with local talent so do not expect a Broadway production but both shows I went to showed so much talent, great stage sets, costumes, lighting and effects. Well worth the $33 cost of the ticket. Convenient parking right around the corner. Recommend purchasing tickets in advance as most productions sell out.
MoreWe haven't been here very often, possibly only the third time for me in the past 10 years. We decided to attend again last Friday on a very cold January evening. We saw the Robber Bridegroom presented by Absolute Theater cast. In addition, live music by the Sawtooth Brothers. As we entered the theater lobby there was also live music trio playing in the lobby, nice bonus. Liquid refreshments including beer and wine is available too. When we entered the theater seating, the person handing out the playbill incorrectly told us to go to the other door, which was wrong - we had been at the right door. Small inconvenience. As the play began with hokey southern drawl lines, square dancing and the band playing at the back, I got the impression this would be just a silly and frivolous play. First impressions can be wrong, because this is a very clever, thoughtful and well acted presentation. We enjoyed it a lot. A couple of the singing voices were very melodic, others sort of screechy and hard to understand. Overall, very well done. High applause!!
MoreI've seen several live theatre shows here and it's always a great night now. The quality and talent at this community theatre is amazing. Seems like every seat is a good seat. I also love the summer-time events outdoors. All in all a great place to experience great live productions!
MoreThis was a nice theatre to catch a local musical. Every seat would be good - the first 2 rows may be too close - have to bend neck. We enjoyed Catch me if you can.
