Cold and ice are 2 entirely different things. We came from out of state to tour the capital just to find it was closed. The website was not updated!!! What a disappointment!!! Again, cold and icy conditions are 2 totally different things. It was not icy!!!!!! The sun was out!! Get it together Baton Rouge.

From the moment our trip began, everything felt thoughtfully arranged and stress-free. ‎‎The pacing was perfect, allowing us to truly enjoy every stop without feeling rushed. We loved the cultural interactions, scenic viewpoints, and little surprises added along the way. ‎‎The team was warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about creating memorable moments. Every day brought something new to admire, photograph, and reflect on. ‎‎It wasn’t just a holiday; it felt like a carefully curated experience designed with travelers in mind.

We've been to a few state capitols and Louisianans certainly have a great one. The exterior of the building...size and majesty...are impressive and the grounds around it are lovely. Very stately. The inside needs a redo. The entrance where you go through security is a little boring, the exhibits need updating or at least a little jazzed up. The top floor where the gift shop and the look out is is drab too. It just seems tired and neglected. I wouldn't touch the first floor. I like it just the way it is. It was fun to go during the holidays and see all House and State meeting rooms decorated for Christmas.

It is a beautiful State Capitol and also the tallest in the United States. The rooftop views on Level 27 are amazing! I always have a great time here!

What an amazing building - inside and out. The architecture, details, stories and craftsmanship are all breathtaking. The history of the cost and time to build is also astounding. The view from the 27th floor platform is also stunning. I went not expecting much and left thinking this was one of my favorite things on a 14 day trip. If you are in Baton Rouge or near there then take the time to tour the capital. I doubt you will be dissapointed.
