tripadvisorBeautiful park. However, several were drinking, loose dogs, and four adults and/or children did not have life vests or whistles on or in their kayaks. WHatch out for tube shuttles. They drive fast if there isnt a park ranger/police around.
MoreJust learned about this park and we will definitely be back! We went on a Saturday at the beginning of summer, and even though there were lots of people, it didn't feel overcrowded. I appreciate that there is no fee to get in and there is a nice beach area that is perfect for little kids. There are also a lot of shady spots under beautiful trees. The bathroom could be improved, but there are also porta potties down closer to the river. Overall, it was lovely and relaxing and the water was super refreshing.
MoreWe stopped at Cypress Bend Park to see the sights and learn about the park. It is a stopping point for some of the river tubing/float companies. We saw people picnicking and listening to music. A very serene spot with beautiful trees rising up from the rivers edge. Some families were fishing and people were floating, swimming and kayaking in the water. Others were walking their dogs, which is allowed although I'm sure they must be leashed. It is a very nice spot in New Braunfels!
