Denny Park Park

Denny Park has the double distinction of being both the city's first cemetery and its first park. Fortunately, when the city turned the cemetery into a park in 1884, it thoughtfully replaced the graves with rhododendrons and azaleas. The terrain is actually 60 feet lower than it once was, due to great Denny Regrade project, which began in 1889 and leveled some of the hills in the area. Still, the city kept the park, and today the parks department has its headquarters here.

Denny Park is a relatively small park on Denny Way. Nice place to sit and relax. It’s clean and feels safe although closed at night.

I went here with friends in May 2018. It was a really nice park. Definitely one of the nicer ones in Seattle and close to Seattle Center

This park is very nice, but isn't very big. There isn't a lot of space to relax, but it's, even so, well-kept, clean, and generally pretty safe. The park itself is beautiful, and there's parking around (or you can just walk down from Seattle Center).

Trees and greenery right in the middle of the city. It is a good opportunity to sit and relax before continuing to explore this wonderful city.

A large beautiful park with playgrounds for the kids and dogs, offering lots of shade provided by large pine (evergreen) trees, located in the heart of Seattle -- at Denny Way & Dexter Ave N. A great place to get away without leaving Seattle! This 'Center of the city nature oasis' provides a place to picnic and walk in the park, while kids play at the playgrounds and pets visit the dog park. It is also the backdrop for the South Lake Union Saturday Markets, and Saturday NIGHT Markets, weekly from May - September, put on by Northwest Marketplaces.
