Newcastle Beach Park, a wonderful 29-acre area is popular with families. It should probably be better known than it is, but as a result of its obscurity, its relatively few visitors have it largely to themselves. In addition to its waterfront swimming and fishing areas, it has truly beautiful paths that wind through a broad range of rare wildlife and flora. It is everything a park should be with something for everyone to enjoy.

We love this park because it has a bit of everything! Gorgeous Lake views, a beach and swimming area perfect for kids, an extensive jungle gym with swings, covered rental areas, an open field for sports or games and a safe pathway for scooters and bikes. The restrooms are usually clean too and the open spaces are in shaded areas, perfect for barbecues and picnics. Parking isn't too far from the actual activity areas. However, not the best park in winter-- the grass is covered in duck poop.

There's not a whole lot to say about this park. It's clean, it's pretty, and it's wonderfully out of the way.

great location and secluded. not a big park, but has everything you need! Even lifeguards! One Caveat is that its a hassle to go back and forth to your car to the water/picnic tables

It is a good beach / beach park to visit on a Sunny Day. There were many families on a Holiday when we visited this beach with family and young children. Most families had come in groups and were enjoying Barbecue food (they had brought with them the barbecue system). The water was still cold but the children enjoyed this place very well.

If you want to hit the beach on a summer day, hit Newcastle. It's a bit hard to find, as it's the most southernmost point in the city. But it has a nice big sandy beach, a protected swimming area (water is clean), a diving platform, and a very large grassy area for laying around, playing frisbee, etc.
