I Love Memorial Park #IHeartMemPark
Memorial Park Park

Started out as a tribute to World War I martyrs from Jacksonville, the Memorial Park now serves a great place for the local community to relax and replenish. The sprawling allows many activities like fishing, jogging in the designated tracks and family picnics among many others. Other than the emerald expanse, another notable feature about the park is the grand bronze sculpture of an angel standing on a globe with wings out. Known as the Life sculpture, it is an ideal spot for photo sessions.

Memorial Park is found along the Saint Johns River, and it is surrounded by some nice high rises. There is an abundance of plant life and sculptures within this park, but the central statue is the highlight. This park is perfect for a quick walk, and people can even lay down on the grass. There is free parking on the side of the street, but the parking situation gets restricted during the later hours.

This park is just the perfect size. Not too big and not too small. It sits on the St John's River so that you can see beautiful views and sunsets! There are benches to sit on to relax and rest. There are beautiful trees to sit by on a blanket and maybe bring a basket of food and wine to share with a friend or family. There is a nice view towards Jacksonville and the Fuller bridge. There are also bicyclists enjoying the park. You can bring your dog on a leash if you clean up after him. You can go for relaxing walks or walk as fast as you want. The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens is next door for a peek at wonderful pieces of art and the beautifully designed garden. The Memorial Park celebrates its 100th Birthday this year. It would be a good time to visit.

This park is in the Riverside neighborhood, and now is a symbol for the neighborhood. The highlight of the park is the memorial statue near water. It is very well-executed and a fitting monument for this park. Worth a visit.

My client recommended we walk around the park and take in some more Jacksonville sites but this was the only one we had time for be hitting the road. Lovely park by the water in a wonderful neighborhood.

Great view from the park over the water. Seems to me that the metal guards are a little unsafe for a family with young kids. Very peaceful place with a lot of squirrels. Easy parking around.
