Can’t beat it for the beauty and boating access. There is a little bit for everyone here. Restaurants close by, the Mote aquarium, Longboat key. It’s a slice of heaven. We had an amazing time on water for the 4th of July. Easy in and out with the boat trailer - we were so happy!

If you not only want to see Sarasota's fireworks, but also the 6 or 7 other town's fireworks, then there is no better spot than Ken Thompson Park. There was plenty of parking, lots of space to set up and unhindered views of all the fireworks north, east and south.

Really enjoyed walking through the gorgeous mangrove trails. Appreciate the hard work to maintain the beauty. Walking along the shores was memorable. Found some shells. Many sailboats were out cruzin in the wind. Very nice place to visit~

Easy walk through the mangroves to a beach where we watched kite boarders and parasails. Close to Mote and The Salty Dog. What could be better!

The park is near the Mote Aquarium. The parking is free . There is a nice playground for kids, benches to relax and a nature preserve with a boardwalk trail. The park’s main accent is the monument of Ken Thompson near the river, the beloved city manager for three decades.
