tripadvisorThere are paths for everyone, paved, boardwalks, and gravel. You can bike or hike, play on a large play structure, have a picnic, exercise, run, walk and just relax by the river. Lots to do here, and lots of trails to choose from.
MoreThis is a delightful nature area off of Gallop Park, right next to a parking area. It is beautiful year round and very peaceful to walk.
Morehat a nice peaceful peaceful walk, you feel like you are out of city. in morning or after work is really nice.
MoreA wonderful and well kept toilet area, and a walk along the Huron River, or in the woods, in the nature area. I have seen a lot of local wildlife and it's a quick walk to Gallup Park, but far more quiet and serene. A couple of lovely trails wend through this park, but stay on the trails. As always, in lower Michigan there is poison ivy. There are squirrels, most of the birds of lower Michigan are there, I've seen Hawks, and the Swans are lovely. It is a great place to find a wide spot in the trail with a book, or knitting on a lazy fall Saturday and watch the water flow by, or just explore a wide variety of the area that makes our city so special.
MoreOur dog particularly likes this park because of its access to the river (she's part lab). About half of the walk is on boardwalks, with the Huron River on one side and forest or wetlands on the other. Just a lovely place to stretch your legs, and the trail takes you right into Gallup Park, so you can do a longer loop hike if you want. So grateful this was never paved over...
