It offers plenty of pretty scenery and a huge grassy area for picnics, covered and uncovered seating, a small area for kids to get wet, fishing spots, three bathrooms with one toilet each (womens, family and mens). Be cautious with food as there are seagulls. Just be forewarned, the parking area is a nice (paved) distance from there for those with mobility issues.

Gabriel Richard Park is a peaceful park. A hidden little gem in the City. The new riverfront plaza and pavilion complement this feel with fountains, fishing outlooks, butterfly gardens and two labyrinths. There is a new parking lot with 36 spaces. New colored concrete walkways. New lighting. New Benches. New restroom facilities. New Pavilion and Cafe. Great location, you can enjoy the river near the iconic MacArthur Bridge, across from Belle Isle. Good spot for watching birds along the Detroit River, There are four wildlife spotting scopes along the Riverwalk.
