I stumbled upon Klode Park as I was driving to have lunch at City Market Cafe. It looked like a nice spot and as I had the time I parked up in the free parking lot and took a walk down the picturesque path to the sandy beach on Lake Michigan. Klode Park features picnic areas, tennis courts, a community-built playground, warming house with restrooms, and ice-skating in winter. The beach is open to swimming but it is not equipped with lifeguards or a beach house for changing. Not an 'attraction' you would drive miles for as a tourist but certainly a lovely recreational facility and beauty spot for locals to the Fox Point, Glendale and Whitefish Bay communities.

Our family has loved going to Klode for years! The beach is clean and just the right size, there are tennis courts, a playground, a nice trail around the edge of the park, and plenty of open space for games and picnics. It's always pretty clean, even the indoor bathrooms and building. The only downside is that most of the play equipment is old. Very old. As in, there's a plaque on it from 1992. Some of it is a newer vintage, but it's all showing its age. We're hoping it gets updated before the kids get too old for it!

Klode Park is a large park west of Lake Michigan. We enjoy sitting on top of the bluff reading and enjoying the view or walking down to the beach. Tennis courts and walking paths, as well as other large fields and trees are in other parts of the park. Small parking lot.

Absolutely breathtaking. Be prepared for a steep walk though. Wear comfortable shoes. Going down is much easier than coming back up, lol! Well worth it for the beautiful views.

Klode park is a great oasis in the heart of Whitefish Bay. There is always a sport being played by young children. Tennis Courts and a playground add to the entertainment. If you head east you will be mesmerized by the incredible vistas over Lake Michigan. It's hard to believe you're in the midwest. Take the path or run the stairs down to the beach.
