What a wonderful place to spend the afternoon with the family. You will find lots of playground equipment for the kiddies at this small, but shady park. It sits across from the natural splendors of Virginia Lake, a haven for ducks and geese. When you get tired of the playground, just cross the street and feed the ducks. In a few moments, you'll be surrounded by hundreds of the quackers, begging for a treat. The park offers a covered cabana complete with half a dozen picnic tables and barbecues. You can relax and spend a quiet afternoon by a peaceful and serene lake or take a walk around the trail that encompasses the lake.

tripadvisorThis big lake is in the middle of the city with apartments and houses all around. And it is close to Virginia Street, the main drag. The water is welcome, and people love to walk their dogs around the lake in the big park. I had a very good walk here as well, without a dog.
MoreA very nice park in a popular residential area. Lots of people come here to power walk or just to walk their dogs. But you can also ride a bike or have a picnic. The lake is a welcome sight in this desert town.
MoreIt's a big park near the Peppermill, but set back from the commercial area. Actually surrounded by residential. Lots of people around, even in the cold weather, and dog walking seems to be the popular activity. Very pretty, an oasis.
MoreWhile in Reno, we visited Virginia Lake Park. It was a very hot day so we went early morning. There are a lot of ducks and birds in the lake. It took us about 30 minutes to walk around the lake, a very pleasant morning.
MoreIt's a nice park in the city, a good place to come and relax with your family. Especially good for a picnic, but look for some shade on a sunny day.
