This spiral-shaped chapel was designed by Philip Johnson, the noted American architect, and features stained glass by Gabriel Loire. It honors the spirit of gratitude as it is represented in world religions. The chapel comprises just part of this lovely downtown oasis, which includes the Bell Tower, a garden, walkways with reflecting pools and waterfalls.

Stunning and Inspirational, the magnificent Glory Window, has 73 panels of stained glass set in resin and was designed by French artist Gabriel Loire. It is one of the largest horizontally mounted stained glass windows in the world and creates a unique space as the spiral rises to the heavens, the colors gradually lighten from deep blues to golden hues. Always worth a visit when you are downtown!

This park is not one that fits into any category easily. It is a space in the middle of commerce that seems to protest the capitalistic clamor of the district. It doesn’t call passersby into a church, but a sanctuary. Local business leaders wanted a park with peace and punch. Its construction was to bring reverence to the middle of a marketplace. It achieves this in a way that nearby First Baptist does not. Thanks-giving square calls the financial servants to gratitude. There are sculptures and flowing waters, mosaic reproductions and even a stain-glass chapel that calls us to recognize how good life is now. I hope it is maintained with more vigor than we noticed at the time of our visit. We enjoyed our stroll even to the chapel. We looked all the way up to the spiral of beauty in awe and wonder. You should too. See, really see for yourself!

Parking was easy, right across the street. Looks smaller than what you might imagine. Make sure you are there before 4 pm to see more of the chapel otherwise certain parts are blocked off.

Very beautiful grounds. The chapel is beautiful. Only go on a nice, warm day. This is a quick stop, but it's worth checking out.

Beautiful stained glass in such a serene setting. We visited on a cold day so didn’t stay to enjoy the park right outside but it looked great.
