tripadvisorThis venue is perfect for a intimate concert. Had a magic evening with Rickie Lee Jones playing her lovely songs with Mike Dillon on percussion. What a sound-match!
MoreNew sound system is terrific. No alcohol at snack bar, cash only. No soda, limited snacks, need to add DECAF coffe. Nice staff.
MoreWe love being able to see such great entertainers at the Rio Theatre, which is so much more intimate than large stadium venues. We saw Herb Albert and Lani Hall who put on a terrific show. The sound was excellent and the visual art display enhanced the experience. It is also great that the theatre is close to many outstanding restaurants. Having dinner and catching a show is one of life's great pleasures. Thanks for making it possible at the Rio Theatre!
Morenot a bad seat in the house, but if you are attending a concert with general admittance, know the line starts early- we got there an hour prior and were a hundred people back- though we still had our choice of seats. acoustics are great, seats are comfortable. ladies restroom was small so the line was huge. concessions are simple (water, coffee, tea, cookies) and there is no alcohol sold. I'd return for another show and recommend seeing any music artist there!
MoreI have seen two live performances by singers with backup groups and the sound was terrible and could not have been worse. I hoped on my second visit that the owners would have bothered to hire someone to correct the acoustics and train their staff on how to manage the equalizer controls but they have not done so. I started out working to do sound setups for performers that visited the university while I was a student and I learned how to work with the acoustics of different spaces and with different performers. I know what live music should sound like in the proper environment and how to compensate when the environment is lacking. The owners of Rio Theatre are treating it as a cash cow and have not invested in correcting the sonic defects of their venue for live performances.
