Marque's Food Distributor Grocery Store

Founded in 1949 by Willie Sr. and Beatrice Marque, the company was originally a corner grocery store with a fresh chicken dressing station that was to provide the foundation for Marque's full time entry into foodservice distribution. When son Willie Jr. joined the business in 1974, he decided the long-term future of the company lay in product distribution, not retail. With one truck, fifteen customers, and a limited product line consisting of fresh chicken, fresh eggs, and smoked sausage, he began focusing on food distribution. Willie Jr. continued to service this segment and capitalize on growth opportunities by broadening Marque's product mix by 300 items in 1996. 3rd generation, Steven Marque joined the business full time in 1996. Together with his father Willie Marque Jr., the company has grown by increasing its distribution center and increasing SKU's over 4000. Today, Marque's Food Distributors helps answer the needs of hundreds of customers throughout the metropolitan New Orleans Area and chain services across the Gulf Coast. Our knowledgeable sales staff undergoes constant training to better understand and satisfy customer needs. Company Mission Statement "It is our responsibility to get our customers what they want, when they want it, how they want it, and at fair market price."

BE CONSCIOUS OF EXPIRATION DATES, many employees do not rotate the stock. A little overpriced, many of the same items are available at Sams Club for on average of $2 less.
