Very pleasant. Good people doing good work. Bought some stuff just to support the cause (and, okay, it was kind of cold that day.)

With a family member I took an early morning boat ride on the Gordon River. Very clean electric boat ride. While narrating the tour, the boat captain made an extremely inappropriate remark. He said I should man up and volunteer to remove Burmese pythons from the Everglades. I don't even live in Florida! What an ***hole. I didn't reply back as I didn't want to spoil the experience for my family member. Apart from that, we saw a lot of bird life, bald eagle, osprey and herons. The Conservancy offers a wide variety of nature programs and trips and the Nature Center is wonderful with marine life, fish, and snakes. Wonderful exhibit about the Everglades and the value of wetlands. I loved seeing the gopher tortoise preserve. They also take care of injured and rescued wildlife at the wildlife hospital, not open to the public. Admission to the Conservancy is reasonable and it is free if you join the Conservancy. The obligatory giftshop is worth checking out as well. I would have given 5-stars if it wasn't for the rude boat captain.

The boat ride was very educational, I was able to learn a lot about the environment. I learned a lot more about mangroves and the type of water we were boating through and about past construction and recent construction, how it affects our natural wildlife. As for the Dalton science building, it was so cool very interactive honestly, anyone of any age would have a great time there. We ran out of time, but we were able to listen to the invasive species lecture, and I highly suggest people go and learning about these invasive species. Everyone can take part of helping out the environment and educating yourself, especially at this amazing conservation. 10/10 recommend
