Knuckleheads Kansas City Bar & Pub ·$

Knuckleheads Saloon is as real as a bar experience could get. Patrons love the vintage chairs and rough lumber bar stools while sitting at long tables. Bar food is offered to keep the energy going and drinks keep the spirits high. They also have a store selling Knucklehead's merchandise. To top it all, they regularly have musicians come in and play some great tunes, especially blues. Check the website for information on events.

First time in Knuckleheads Garage, and our first time down to KC for a Knuckleheads show in way too long! Finest music venue in the country--no question--and we saw some of the very best musicians we could have seen anywhere--doing an Allman Brothers Tribute show! The place is comfortable with plenty of seating, the bartenders are quick and friendly at helping customers, and the sound is perfect. My wife said she has never been in a better indoor venue (we'd always been to outdoor shows before and loved those too) and I agree. When we left, the guy we gave our tickets to to get in was thanking everyone for coming, smiling, and he meant it!Some places just know how to run a business to keep people coming back. Knuckleheads is one of those spots--I've never left feeling anything less than crazy happy and so pleased we visited, and last night was no exception.Live long and prosper, Knuckleheads!

5 of us attended 70s KC boogie disco band night. Lots of fun people there. The main singer was ok on some songs, pretty off-key on some songs. Most songs sounded very much alike. We go to many offerings at knuckleheads. We’ll be back - just likely not to hear this particular band.

This is a great venue, EXCEPT they allow smoking. You can’t get away from it, including cigars…. No restrictions. For us that ruins the experience of seeing Asleep at the Wheel.

I am writing this review in response to a review that came up when I searched for Knucklehead's using Google. It was for an show that I also attended. That show was admittedly terrible, but the reviewer gave Knucklehead's a 3 star review because the band was no good. What they said about the band (Boogie Nights) was pretty much spot on. We paid $20 a ticket to see them because we were familiar with the lead singer from another regular Knucklehead's band. She is very talented. However, that night she was having trouble carrying a tune at times. The mix was far too loud and, having performed in a band myself, I think that she was just having trouble hearing herself which can make any singer go off key. But, that said, the show was so bad we left BEFORE the end of the first set. Just ate the cost of the tickets and walked out. Is that Knucklehead's fault or the band's? I would say a bit of both, but I did notice that the guy running sound was not the regular guy so perhaps they brought their own sound person. That would put the problem 100% in the band's lap. Knucklehead's is one of the few remaining venues in Kansas City that has regular live music and brings in acts from across the country as well as showcasing great local acts as well. The venue is not perfect. They are cash only which is okay for me as I always carry some cash but a bit out of place in today's electronic society. They can at times play the sound too loud, but that is true of almost all live music venues. I always bring and usually wear earplugs. This is too bad as it does cut heavily into the quality of the sound, but I want to save what hearing I have left. Overall, Knucklehead's is a 4 star venue. They had a bad night. And Boogie Nights from that one experience gets a 1 star rating. Others seemed to be enjoying it but I rarely leave a show that I paid good money to see. This was one of those rare occassions.
