Opened in 2001, the Pulitzer has grown into an institution with an international reputation. Through changing exhibitions, world-renowned architecture by Tadao Ando and innovative programming, the Pulitzer serves as a place of both experimentation and reflection for artists, scholars, students and the general public. Each exhibition at the Pulitzer strongly relates the art to the architecture, instead of emphasizing an art historical narration or presenting works from a specific collection. A personal experience with the artwork is a key aspect of the visit; therefore there are no labels to detract from an immediate aesthetic experience. The Pulitzer is free and open on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

tripadvisorThis may be my favorite thing about St Louis. It is simply world class! Tadao Ando's magnificent modern building, complimented by the Pritzker's curated collection of modern art and drawings is simply transcendent. If you see one thing in St Louis, this should be it!
MoreAmazing exhibit of ultra modern furniture by Scott Burton. Highly recommend. The remainder of the building exhibits are also very interesting. No admission fee.
MoreBeautiful facility to showcase art. Joe on the outside is the Foundation's major icon. The exhibits that we saw was a modern one that featured Faye HeavyShield. She was commissioned by the Foundation to develop 2 pieces concerning ecology and Native American history within the St. Louis area and another exhibition concerning Medieval Art and it's impact on the environment. The latter certainly is not a typical topic and it is thought provoking.Very good experience.
MoreI am amazed this is not in the top 10 things to do in town. First, it's free. Second, the building is just amazing in terms of design and construction. Third, this is not a collecting museum and the exhibition changes all of the time, and the had some wonderful work from the 1960's installed. It's a must do, and great stop for a couple of hours. Free convenient parking also.
MoreA hidden gem. Present exhibit of Hannah Wilkie is just amazing, very well curated. Building designed by architect Tadao Ando. Each room has a very knowledgeable docent. A must see for art enthusiasts. Right next to Contemporary Museum of Art.
