tripadvisorSmall venue with live music. Great cocktails and good beer selection. Arrive early for the best seats and enjoy the entertainment.
MoreThis place is definitely humble. It's a blues bar but they also have reggae periodically. The outdoor patio has a bohemian vibe. We went for a concert and the sound system was excellent, which is not what you would expect walking in. They have Sunday Blues from 3-6pm and so we plan on making it our Sunday spot. This is definitely a hidden, local gem and I feel lucky to have found it. I gave it four stars because I'm a wine snob :))
MoreOMG! Thank goodness that this place has great music. A neighbor posted that his band would be playing at this bar, so since we are a group of young retirees, it sound like a plan. The place is definitely a dive since it's obvious that there is no interest in making the place a little nicer. It's the kind of place where a woman holds it for fear of what the bathroom may look like. If they would improve the setup and arrangement of the tables they could make more money. It is darn near impossible to get through the tables because they didn't leave any aisle space for walking. Secondly, there isn't a waitress in site to clean tables, but more importantly, to take drink orders. We got there early to get a choice seat so we ordered 2 rounds of drinks an hour before the band started. We probably would have ordered more once the music started if they had a waiter/waitress, but it was too crowded and inconvenient for trying to get through the tables to even bother. The band was phenomenal but some of their regular guess were obscene. These two women danced in front of the stage humping and grinding on each other. One looked less than 30 and the other over 50. The 50 year old was on the floor making a spectacle of herself. Two guys joined them and began touching and feeling on the ladies and the ladies were excited for the attention. We felt like we were invading their privacy. If that wasn't enough the old one leaned on a pole and pulled up her blouse. No one was cheering them on, we were all embarrassed. If that wasn't enough the old one bent all the way over and pulled down her pants to moon the guests with her naked butt. It was then definitely time to leave.
MoreProbably the best blues club in the state. Every Tue. and every first Sat. of the month there is an open mic for blues. Many professional blues players from the area and blues musicians passing through from all over the country stop in for a set. Good place for a young beginning blues player/singer to get mentoring from the old cats and have fun playing. Cheap cold drinks and hot blues.
MoreThis place is a 'hodgepodge'of ages & talent, but it works.Numerous musicians create 'bands' on Tuesdays, singin ' the blues. It appears there's a very regular crowd who are well acquainted. The 'drill' is they play 3 songs per set, or 20 minutes. A break ensues as the next band prepares their musicians. One female harmonica player was as good than most. Beer is $2, well drinks $5.25, & a pool table was never vacant. It's almost as if you were in your aunt & uncle's basement, & his friends dropped in to play. Very fine musician friends. They host the summer Blues Festival. Bet that's a blast!
