tripadvisorTalk Cinema Travels is a great opportunity to experience new films and make new friends while enjoying fantastic destinations with great food and culture. My partner and I have taken 3 trips so far (Cuba twice, San Sebastián once) and plan to keep signing up for more. Harlan and Susan are terrific at knowing what to see and do and make excellent recommendations. Guest speakers are always fantastic and interesting people. It's a great way to see the world with friends of similar interest. I highly recommend Talk Cinema Travels to all my friends. Now if I could just decide where to go next...
MoreFor movie buffs, this trip cannot be beat! Small group; daily briefings and discussions by film critic Harlan Jacobson about what films to see (or not); passes to all films---no standing in line; tickets to evening special events featuring awards to and interviews with Oscar-nominated actors and directors; congenial & knowledgeable hosts (Harlan and wife Susan) and congenial film-loving fellow guests!
MoreI've traveled to Iceland, Morocco, and Montreal with Harlan and Susan and enjoyed every minute of each trip. Convenient hotels, breakfast was always included. Montreal was packed with screenings, I saw over 15. Iceland and Morocco were a unique, blend of viewing films, plus experiencing culture and country. Last trip was Morocco in 2008. Have not visited during the years listed below. I checked a date in order to submit my review.
MoreHarlan Jacobson, the leader, is very knowledgeable about movies. Each morning at breakfast he reviews all the films of the day and gives his recommendations. He attracts a nice group of people with similar interests in films. And he always takes the group out for a nice dinner at a restaurant that he is familiar with.
MoreI visited with a daughter and sister. Every morning began with an informative talk by local experts, often professors, about various aspects of Cuba such as economics, art, history and culture. Activities were wellplanned and executed. Music everywhere. I loved it!
