We attended an excellent production at TheatreWorks! It was a one man show, who performed musically, acted, wrote it, etc. The theatre was the perfect size for this production. The acoustics were just right, the views good and the seats comfortable.

Although we live about an hour away , we have attended events at Theatreworks. It is a beautiful theater and the near by area is full of various food choices . We love eating too.

I like smuin ballet and am very pleased that they dance here once a quarter that is very close to downtown and very convenient.

Rags is the inspiring musical performed by an amazing TheaterWorks cast on through April 30th. The set design masterfully captures emigrants arriving at Ellis Island and their lives in the tenements of New York. This talented cast hits this musical out of the ball park accompanied by a small but powerful orchestra who can play a demanding range of music evoking the emigrant experience of the early 1900s. Where did they get the great Klezmer musicians? Plenty of laughter and love. With winning set design, great score with a professional orchestra to bring it alive, and wonderful voices and acting...what's not to like!?

Theatreworks has been producing high-quality plays in Palo Alto and Mountain View for many years. Today marks the end of its annual New Works program where playwrights try out new ideas and hone works in progress. It's an exciting time for serious theater aficionados. Some of the plays are fascinating. Some are off the mark. But it's still interesting to see the inner mechanisms at play. Throughout the main season, Theatreworks brings in many unusual plays with strong themes. Most of them have been great. As you might expect, some are better than others. But all have top-level actors, professional set design, and quality.
