I called nomads shaper Ryan about ordering a custom board. After 2 phone calls and two emails over 3 1/2 weeks with no movement on designing it after Ryan told me twice he’d build me a board I ordered a board from Chris Birch, one of the best shapers in florida in Indialantic. It took 15 minutes on the phone to design and order. Ready in 3 weeks. I don’t know what Ryan’s issue was but in 50 years I’ve never had a problem ordering a surfboard. I was trying to support a local business. I guess Nomad isn’t the same with the sons running it.

After our visit and tour last Tuesday It’s transparent that Papa Ron is proudly watching down on his family. Nomad is more then just a local surf shop. This family had been shaping and custom building boards since 1968 and have attracted travelers from around the world. My son, TJ, picked out some sweet Oakley sunglasses, the Sutro’s, a little to big for my style but that’s what’s hot now according to Celeb Football Stud, Patrick Mahomes. TJ also snagged some original Nomad Merch; a straw hat, a long sleeve sun shirt and a sick nomad tee with a hottie hula girl on the back. My wife Cassie found a beautiful patterned skirt and top to match and our EDBL brand ambassadors picked up some local handmade bracelets, nomad Merch, bikinis l, and a button up Hawaiian shirt. If you surf the web you’ll find a video of Michelle “Bombchelle”Dalton, riding a skateboard through the store. (Next to the sign that says “Do Not Ride the boards in our shop”) Checking out the board room and speakeasy shaping room was the highlight of my day. If you closed your eyes and listened, you could hear Papa Ron and feel the vibes in this shaping room. “Only if the walls could talk” - said Ryan Heavyside This was a great experience for our the EDBL team. My husband loves surf shops so we always find one while on vacation. While visiting West Palm Beach, our concierge told us about this shop. He found several pairs of boardshorts and hats. Very good selection of Billabong brand.

Locally owned, good customer service, great environment! Definitely recommend stopping in! A lot of cool stuff!
