Went on Friday w/ kindergarten class. Wow So many different scool groups there. Busy, crowded, lots and lots of children. All having a good time. It would of been more enjoyable for me if not so crowded. But it was for the kids. Thay all had a great time.

Great place for family’s with smaller kids. 3 floors of tons of stuff to do! Loved it! Lots of stem type interactive learning areas. Farming. Water table. The art area is genius!!! My kids loved it!! Even the messy stuff was able to be used without disaster. Highly recommend!

This is a very interesting and meaningful venue for learning and discovering facts of life from early age. Children of 3 months to early teens (and older) are welcome in Children's Discovery Museum (opened in 2004) at 101 E Beaufort Street in Normal IL.This modern museum offers a wide variety of programs and activities, described in detail in many printed sources and online, as well. They welcome and encourage, and get the children interested to participate in learning activities, when visiting the museum. There's a list of interactive exhibit galleries, where a playing environment is an enjoyable process of learning. The galleries, located on three floors of the museum, create a learning medium, for instance implementing the stages of the program Playful Learners, Early Explorers, Day Camps -- all programs are age-oriented; the exhibits in Discover My World gallery on the 1st floor are quite exciting for children -- I saw many small kids becoming very interested in the exhibits. The museum introduces children to some laws of physics, they learn about the process and goals of recycling, get acquainted with farming. Imaginative programs for children of older ages are the galleries Arts Incorporated, concentrating on painting art, theatre, music, etc. There's also an exciting and healthy sports activity available for children: climbing exercises. The museum is beautifully designed and appointed with exhibits, the info, and visual aids. The ambiance is welcoming, bright and cheerful. The museum has various membership and volunteer programs, as well as internship options for college students. The museum store on the first floor also looks like a learning environment -- for kids to discover the world of books, toys, souvenirs, educational games, clothing, etc. Although my visit wasn't long, I had a chance to talk to some staff: everybody was very friendly, they are professional, educated people, who love their job. They gave me some free brochures, handouts and booklets, and the spring 2023 edition of the regularly published magazine Wonder, that can give parents a clear idea and details about the museum and the programs. My general impression is, that Children's Discovery Museum is an invaluable source of knowledge and the opportunity for children to discover and enjoy learning from early on. Thanks for hospitality and warm welcome from Children's Discovery Museum!

If you are looking to do something different with the kids in the area this is the place for them. We took a short train ride from Springfield to the Children's Discovery Museum to check this out. We spent over two hours exploring the three floors. This would be a great raining day or cold day activity.

I took my 3rd grade class to the Children's Discovery Museum this past week, and we had the best time! Miss Jenny was our lab teacher, and she did a fantastic job! She gave very clear, easy to understand instructions for the kids, and she was very helpful and patient. The kids loved her. Everyone else throughout the museum was very kind and friendly to the kids! I will definitely go back there for future field trips!
