Plough & Hearth and their Outlet store are located a few miles south of Madison, Virginia on Route 29 and only about 20 miles north of Charlottesville. Driving south on Rt. 29 you will see it on the right side of the road and about 100 yards behind it on a little lane is the regular store. Our local store closed years ago, and it was nice to be able to browse both shops and we came away with a cool tasteful little festive Christmas yardstick measuring snowfall totals for the yard. The outlet is larger than the regular store with a lot of merchandise outside under cover, some at discounted prices. The regular store is a little cottage with a porch full of items and there is some overlap in product. Both stores are loaded with Christmas items as well as their usual indoor and outdoor living collections. There were candies, snacks of all kinds, candles, garden, home accessories and even some local wines and beers. It was a nice little side stop on the way further south.
