We stopped in this little shop while on a walking tour of Historic Savannah. The Atelier Galerie has handcrafted jewelry and ornaments from local artists. The selection is very good and you'll get unique pieces.

My wife and I have done business with this store for many many years. We are in the town once or twice a year and normally go there and buy my wife a piece of jewelry. About a year ago we bought a ring for her and when we got home, it did not actually fit. She called the store and they said that she could certainly bring it back and exchange it for another piece of jewelry, possibly by the same maker. She was also told that if that didn’t work, they would exchange it for jewelry of same price.We went today and they didn’t have another ring that would work so my wife started picking out other pieces of jewelry equal to the value of the ring. After a while, the lady who is waiting on us, who I think was the owner, got agitated and started to berate us, and all but accused us of trying to take advantage of her. I finally told my wife forget it, keep the ring, and we left.I told the lady we would never come back but thought I didn’t think she really cared.I told my wife, keep the ring and let’s leave. My wife misunderstood and thought I was telling the lady in the store to keep the ring. Later on when I found out what it happened I told my wife that no I had not intended for the store to keep the ring.I have never been more humiliated in my life. We contacted the store and asked them to mail the ring. We’ll see how that goes.We will certainly never return to that store.

Atelier is an adorable jewelry shop that has unique silver pieces ideal for gift giving. They have a lot of different, interesting designs and make a few things right on the premises. I bought this little silver bracelet that is styled after one of the gates of the big homes here, a great remembrances of Savannah!

A gem of a store! We were impressed by how much quality jewelry was packed into this small store, and by the salesman (forgot his name) who encouraged us to try on any of the jewely that caught our interest. He was quite knowledgeable about the artists, too. I was really surprised to see that they carried Holly Yashi, a famous jeweler from California. Yes, we spent some $$ and now we have lovely jewelry that will remind us of a lovely long weekend in Savannah. All in all, a highlight for 2 sisters shopping in Savannah.
