"Urban fishing" may seem like an oxymoron, yet Lake Murray offers fishing within the surprising scope of a large urban park. The lake is open all year with trout planted in winter so fish are in abundance throughout the year. Catfish may be caught during the summer, and bluegill during spring.premises.

Crystal-clear waters mirror the surrounding lush greenery, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. The gentle lapping of waves against the shore harmonizes with the symphony of rustling leaves. A haven for birdwatchers, the lake attracts diverse avian species, adding a vibrant touch to the scenery. Whether for a reflective stroll along the shoreline or a peaceful boat ride, this idyllic lake captivates with its natural beauty, providing a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
MoreOne of my favorite places to take a stroll. Great scenery and lots of people always around so I feel safe there. You can rent paddle boats on site. There are lots of ducks and animals to keep kids occupied during an afternoon picnic.
MoreNow Lake Murray is a very peaceful, very nice atmosphere, and the water is beautiful. This place is really good if you like are going to propose to your, mate. Overall 4.9/5.
MoreGreat place to walk if you are recovering from back/hip issues. After 18 hours of travel time my back was pretty sore and I wanted an easy walk with good footing. Lake Murray fit the bill, we saw an osprey, squirrels, some very cute unidentifiable birds, a water snake, some golfers and a lot of cute dogs on leads. The toilets are the non-flush variety found in lots of parks. They can be quite odiferous and you might need a Kleenex or two.Bring your own water and wear a hat as the sun can be brutal.
MoreWe rented kayaks for the first time with the family. Had a blast for grandmas birthday. Always a beautiful area to walk. But this time was a more unique experience. Like being a tourist in your own backyard. Kayaks were fun and adorable.
