tripadvisorGreat place for experienced and new climbers. Setters are super nice, and the routes are reset at a good interval. The staff is very kind.
MoreGreat time here at the Rock Club.Purchased a Groupon and decided to visit on a Friday morning. Called ahead and the front desk staff were very quick in getting back to me to confirm that a belayer was available at that time. They also confirmed the Groupon over the phone. I went ahead and completed the required waiver forms online prior to our visit. Adequate parking was available at that time. The Rock Club (downstairs) shares its space with a with a tennis club, so make sure you follow the ramp down toward the Rock Club entrance and NOT the stairs whih leads to the tennis club. We arrived at around 10am and it was fairly empty. The Rock Club staff explained the process and set us up with climbing shoes. We were then introduced to our belayer who was awesome. Over the next hour, we tried climbs ranging in difficulty. The wall heights range from about 35-40 feet and the peg placement and wall angles vary throughout the climbs, making some more difficult than others. We even had some time to try some bouldering. Our belayer was great at explaining techniques and technical terms. She was very patient and very encouraging...though not pushy at all. After we finished, the staff was nice enough to show us around to see what else was available at the facility: childrens area, common areas, training rooms and weight rooms.May go without saying...wear comfy clothes. As a regular gym-goer, but someone who has NOT climbed before, this was a welcomed challenge. Certain muscles, particularly the forearms and core, may not be part of the typical gym regimen...but are very important in climbing...that being said, I was definitely feeling it the next day.Overall we had a great experience at the Rock Club. We will deinifitely look into other classes.Kudos to all the staff members there.
MoreYou'll notice most of the positive reviews are from people who dropped their kids off for a birthday party because that's pretty much what this place has become- glorified babysitting. There's always dozens of kids running around and the staff is mostly teens, so it's kids in charge of kids which means anarchy. If you want to seriously climb or boulder this place is just awful. They know their bread and butter is just getting busloads of boys and girls in here to make rent. For fun watch how many times the staff ignores the fact that children aren't supposed to be in the bouldering area unsupervised and either start climbing by themselves or are directly underfoot of adults trying to refine their skills. This would be a decent facility as the walls are challenging and it's relatively clean but in their rush to profit they've made it a glorified Chuck E. Cheese with exercise most daytimes and unfit for adults.
MoreWhen your kids drive you up a wall, come here and have them actually climb the walls! Friendly staff. Sweet climbs. Reasonable pricing.
MoreJune 2019, great place to overcome your fear of heights. The place has has many skill level walls for newbie to experienced Rock Climbers. From the staff to the people who were just there to rock climb, everyone was very nice, and helpful. This was second time Rock Climbing in over 10 years, and I had a blast. My only suggestion is that all staff wear a bright color Tee Shirt so you can distinguish them from the crowd of people who are just there for climbing and having fun. Love this place, and it is a MUST TRY at least once in your lifetime or twice :). I like the fact that you can get a Day Pass, and not locked into a membership.
