If I were going to make a movie about the perfect toy store, I would set it at Finnegan's. From the moment you walk in there's a palpable sense of fancy, whimsy and wonder. These people know and love toys. I found a wide selection from the traditional (Lego, jigsaw puzzles, chess) to the evolved (roll-out keyboard, STEM toys, laser chess!) to the just fun (from stickers to marble runs...). We purchased two toys my child won't put down - a zippy, tumble-bumble, light-up RC car which makes adults stop and smile and a catapult which is shockingly accurate despite being about 9. The store is bright, staffed by helpful people and boasts a banner selection of cool, non-traditional stuffies (narwhal!) and PDX visitor gifts. One of the few downtown stores that's been here for decades. Definitely worth a visit.
