MoreLoved being immersed in nature and being able to pic which type of trail based on time or difficulty. Playground available at the top was a great way to break the time up and eat lunch. Gorgeous scenery and weather!

MoreMy wife Barbara and i love to trail hike and take a lot of pictures along the way. We have been on many, many trails all over the southeast United States thinking that we needed to travel to Tennessee, Georgia , or some other location to find some great trails. On a whim we drove to Monte Sano Nature Preserve from another direction and came across, according to the kiosks, 50 to 70 miles of trails. Some are even rated extremely difficult which was great to find. We took numerous pictures of the leaves and vistas. The nicest part of this great find is that it is only 12.2 miles from home. This will allows us more time for the trails and no motel charges.
MoreLove the views up here. Beautiful and quick drive from the city. Love the hiking trails and just a nice place to relax and get away from it all. Like it when they have the art festival going on.
