tripadvisorBoeing Future of Flight is located 25-miles north of downtown Seattle in the Paine Field Aviation District in Everett. It is officially a Boeing Production facility offering a Factory tour. The tour takes us to the production floor, tour leader explained the whole process of manufacturing of the airplane here from scrap to finish. How they take care of special needs of different airlines including seats & paint colours etc. It is an interactive tour where person related to industry can ask their queries. For us, it was a unique opportunity to explore the largest manufacturing facility in the world. The views from the observation Sky Desk overlooking the Paine Field was amazing. Train Yard, Assembly Plant, Paint Hangers, Delivery Centre, Air Traffic Control Tower, Mount Rainier & Mount baker are visible for Sky Desk. The other highlight was the Gallery where several products and parts were displayed. The Destiny Laboratory Module, Wisk Air Taxis, The International Space Station and The Boeing Adventure are different section to look into. We did fly a airplane on Flight Simulation machines offering three aircrafts. Finally, we were in Boeing Store offering aerospace inspired gifts and souvenirs. The whole experience tales around 2-3 hours and is a must do for all. Kindly note the Boeing Future of Flight is not The Museum of Flight, which is different activity at different place in Seattle.
MoreThis is a great place to visit. I found it very interesting and would recommend for most people. Smaller children may get bored. Allow a few hours to see this plant and museum.
MoreBooked our tour of the Boeing Factory through the Boeing Future of Flight and drove up 30 minutes from downtown Seattle. We arrived early and exchanged vouchers for tickets. And put all of our personal belongings (including phones, cameras, water bottles) into free lockers. Then we checked in with tour guide Joe, who is quite the historian; we chatted about William Boeing (born in our home town of Detroit) a couple times before and after the tour. Our tour experience began with an introduction by tour guide Kavya and three short videos before the group was split in two. We boarded our bus with Kavya pointing out sites as we rode a short distance to the tour site before entering Bay 5 (or 6?) to see how assembly of the new Dreamliner jets happen. Quite interesting to see that some 8 or more planes are in various stages of assembly; each one is labeled by customer name. We spent some 30 minutes inside the Bay looking and watching. Then the bus took us back to the Future of Flight building where we saw more displays and went up to the Sky Deck and were able to take photos. All in all, despite its brevity, it was interesting. And gives you pause as to how much goes into building a new jet airliner!
MoreThe tour is really an AMAZING experience. The tour guide Byron is such a lovely person, keeping us entertained through out our trip. Boss, please give him a PROMOTION!!!!!!!!
MoreIf you are into airplanes, production or Boeing itself, it’s an excellent program for you. We booked our appointment online in the morning (9:00 am) and I am happy with that, because by the time we finished our tour, the next groups were huge. Our tour guy was a local and talked a lot about Boeing and what is happening at the place. They show us every step of the way, mostly from the bus, but we could also enter into one of the huge assembly buildings as well. We saw the 777 line and how they build the new 737 max line. It was interesting and gigantic. After the tour we managed to spend some time in the visitor center’s gallery and roof top with a nice view of the brand new planes.
