I attended the latest Calamari Sisters play last week, I love the Auburn Public Theater, and have seen all of the Calamari productions, but this time it was different. “Beat until Stiff” is basically a Pampered Chef Party. While I applaud the premise of a portion going to a charitable cause, I had no idea this was going to be a promotion of their products, with the Calamari Sisters doing a demonstration, while also adding in their singing, dancing and usual humor. Something just didn’t seem quite right . True, there was no pressure to buy, but throughout the play, all items used in cooking were from Pampered Chef, and after the show, they were set up for purchase in the lobby. This all seemed to take away from the usual show I love from them. So, for me, I felt disappointed that it was not what I enjoy from this funny twosome. I guess they are independent distributors, and doing parties, too. Just seemed a little out of place.

I love this theater. Large, clean and the people were nice. The movie was awesome! Great seats, great sound and the concession stand was pretty good too.

This place oozes with a stage presence hardly found in small towns like Auburn. It is a struggling non-profit that offers better than average stage performances of all types from music to plays to comedy.

We went to see John Waite and Jason Sinay. They both were so good. The seats and acoustics in this small venue were great! It is hidden little gem that no one knows about but we are hooked! There are NO bad seats. They have a bar open prior and during the show, and they have something just about every week!

I have seen movies, lectures, musicals, bands and plays here. Bathrooms are clean. Parking garage 15' from the building. They serve beer, wine, soda, water popcorn and snacks. Check it out.
