The house and grounds are quite interesting. But even more interesting I thought was all the history described in the interpretative displays, not just of the families, but also of their society and the development of the region. Anyone visiting Albuquerque with an interest in local history should make this a stop.

Imagine a woman in the 1700’s owning 40 square miles of land from the Rio Grande to the Rio Puerco, 13 miles to the West! Way before women were normally allowed to be landowners! What force of character, what foresight… We had Bruce (long white-bearded Santa-like) as a docent. He was very informative and still had the willingness to learn more about the history of the area… From 1600 to 1850, follow the history of three generations of the same family. Farmers, realtors, general store owners, they were well-rounded and did a bit of everything. They made money thanks to merino wool, wine from over 3,300 grapevines, over 30 varieties of apples, and much more. Go as slow or as fast as you want, no one puts pressure on the way you ‘should’ visit this place. We were here in the winter and it was too cold to visit the grounds, we will return when the weather warms up. Donation based visit – worth your while

If you like seeing old things, then you will enjoy this house. The Gutierrez Hubbell House is one of my favorites because I enjoy seeing all of the old artifact from New Mexico's Spanish colonial past, the history in the displays, and walking around the huge garden. The tour docent was very knowledgeable and added a lot to our experience. It was well worth my time!

We had a wonderful time wandering around the grounds and the guides focused the tour for my kids. A great way to spend an hour or an afternoon.

Thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic tour I received. The informational displays were informative and interesting to read. The acequia at the rear of the property has a lovely little trail beside it.
