tripadvisorAttended the Planet Comicon here. Reserved parking at the nearby Arts District garage, and everything went smoothly. The Comicon was well organized this year. The Convention Center is spacious enough for a lot more people than one might imagine. The one thing I would recommend is really using staff to get around. For some reason the layout of the convention center is a bit odd. Sometimes an escalator is shut down, and it's not always clear how to reach a meeting room across the building. But the rooms were fine, and a very popular panel I thought I'd never get into was in the grand ballroom, which can seat a surprising number of people. Easily found a seat. Great time.
Moreactually terrible. understaffed and completely unorganized; you’ll pay for your ticket online just to wait for hours in line. they decide to cap lines arbitrarily and tell you to either come back later (when it’s capped again) or they just tell people the celebrity or whatever isn’t going to have time for everyone. actual money hogs.
MoreLiterally the most unprofessional con i've ever been to. If you want to meet someone be prepared to stand in like for hours and hours on end or not even be able to at all cause they'll cap the line and not even allow access to people after multiple people have left lmao
MoreKC Comic Con is a joke. So unorganized. Have to buy tickets online, then wait in a 3 hour line to get in to will call to get an arm band. Then after waiting for 2 hours the staff decides to merge the lines setting you back another hour.Definitely won't be back.
MoreWatch out for parking. The city advises you to download an application called ParkSmartKC. It seems very easy and reasonable, comparable to other major cities, but BEWARE after using the service I was still issued a citation. It seems that due to COVID this city no longer uses actual people to accept payments for parking only to issue citations. I’m really not sure what the solution is. Good luck.
