tripadvisorWe came here for the tour of Freestyle Love Supreme. This house holds less than 1000 seats, so it’s a great space for a smaller stage show. We were right on the front row and loved seeing everything up close. Restrooms are downstairs and the stairs are tall and steep, so be careful!
MoreI was pleased to run into this landmark historic theater of the town and was glad it was revived to use as musical performance along with a few others in the area. The Charline McCombs Empire Theatre is located in the heart of San Antonio Theater District area. According to the history, it was once a well known movie theater and at present, it has been revived to serve the community as a musical theater. I did not see any shows here so the rating is mainly location and outside physical of the theater. San Antonio is lucky to have a few landmark theaters that are still in operation.
MoreGreat small venue for B-listers. Located downtown San Antonio. Parking not close. We went to restaurant and Took Uber fromThere to empire. Very convenient. This place needs some paint and slight uplift. One elevator to go to bathroom in basement?!Drink counter line too long. Show was awesome though. Easy get good seats on presale.
MoreTheater was ideal for TedX event. Good acoustics and sound system. Every seat a good seat. Intimate as it is small. Would give 5 stars if...restrooms weren’t down some very steep stairs. Also the risers/levels need to be marked in red or yellow. Easy to stub into or fall off of. Event was very good this year. All involved in putting on the event raves about this venue.
MoreWe saw a show while in town here. It was recently refurbished, I was told. It’s a quaint and intimate setting for a show or concert. It’s just a block off of Riverwalk, so it’s way to have a nice dinner and then a short walk to the theater. It’s reminiscent of the theater scene of long ago.
