tripadvisorThe nice thing about it was you can never be more than 11 rows from the stage. We grabbed a burger at The Horton Grand Hotel next door. Entrance is around the corner. The burger was good and there was a piano player. We sat near the bar by the fireplace. If we go back to the theater we would eat there again as it is very convenient. IndoorParking across the street is $20.00 but you can pay less if you book online before you go.
MoreThis is a theatre with history in the heart of the Gaslight district. This is a small tight theatre which means whatever show you see you appear up close and personal with the cast. We saw Mel Brooks Young Frankenstein which was great; but this has plenty of good shows. It was easy to get a ticket the staff were very friendly and helpful. You can get tickets on line or via the theatre. If you are in the city and want something different to do in the evening see what’s on - it wasn’t expensive.
MoreWe saw Hairspray last night at this amazing intimate venue and loved every moment of it.We're on vacation from London and just happened across the flyer. We all enjoyed it, and sang and danced our way through. The quality of the voices gave me goosebumps. You'll be singing as you come out. Well done all xxx
MoreWe went to the Hairspray musical on opening night and we had a great time. It is a very small quaint spot for a play and everyone is up close and personal. The only complaint that I have is that buying a ticket at the window takes almost a year... maybe 11 months to complete that transaction. Other than that, the show was great and the venue was my perfect size.
MoreIt's crazy that we lived less than a block from this theater for over 7 years, yet never had an occasion to go inside...until we snagged a couple of tickets to an author panel at the Horton Grand during this year's Comic Con. We honestly didn't get much time inside the theater itself; the panel was an hour long, and they ran a tight ship. But, I will say that I loved the feel of the space. It's a smaller, more intimate theater than some of the other performance spaces downtown, and it doesn't seem like they have a bad seat in the house, just based on the layout. The acoustics were good so that we were able to hear all the women on the panel, even if they weren't so good at using the microphones. The seats were comfortable, and there was enough leg room for people to scoot by to seats in the middle of the row without having to step, trip or stumble over those who were already seated. All in all, I liked the space a lot, and am now trying to figure out when we can visit for an actual performance (not that I didn't love the panel, but theaters are made for performing arts, and I so want to see a show here!)
