Had a great time until a bouncer name Bug removed me from the premises because I said I listen to podcast that she doesn’t like. I was happy to agree to disagree but she continued to escalate the situation and abuse her position as bouncer to kick out a paying customer out of the blue over a simple difference of opinion. Such a shame as this was my first night visiting Tulsa and would expect a more welcoming experience

Iconic Tulsa bar next to the iconic Cain's Ballroom and soon-to-be iconic Oklahoma Pop Culture Museum. This bar fills a niche like few others. After a late lunch in Sand Springs, we decided to grab a drink at the reliable Soundpony. It's not a fern bar. It's just a nice place to sit at the bar, interact with Amy, grab a wine or beer and converse with an interesting local or two. Great music. Charlie the dog may greet you (or may not). Not much in the way of food, but Empire Sliced is right next door and you can get a pie or a slice of your favorite delivered. It's a happening place in mid-June when the Tulsa Tuff comes to town. Soundpony has their own team! There's an outside area out back for smokers. We've been there many times over the years and it's always been a fun, no-drama, place to have a drink and meet friends.

Where else to grab a quick, no frills beverage, with good music (vinyl) playing, friendly bartender and interesting mix of customers? Soundpony, of course. Here's hoping Soundpony stays where it is. I really hate to see the 7-8 story condos being built right next door. There goes the neighborhood. At least the Cain's is still there and with the OK Pop museum going up, it's still a classy spot to be in.

This little dive bar has been here next door to the famous Cain's Ballroom for a long time. If you're into fern bars and classy wine, skip this place. If you like being around people of all ages having a good time with great bartenders and good reasonable (cheap) beers and cocktails, you've come to the right place. Always good music on, sometimes live, a great place to drop in and have a drink or two before you move on. If you come in June during Tulsa Tough, the Soundpony racing team is housed here and it's a great place to stand on the sidewalk and watch the race, since Main Street is one of the racing routes. This place is kinda hard to describe. You just have to see it and experience it for yourself.
