tripadvisorHistoric theater in Dinkytown near the University of Minnesota campus that has been transformed into an event space and music venue. Although it is somewhat generic looking inside (except for the bathrooms), it is a good place to catch a show as you can get close to the stage, and the capacity is only around 750. The bathroom design upstairs is quite unique and should be experienced. I was here in 2025 to listen to The Kooks and lovelytheband and it was a really enjoyable show. Parking here always is challenging. Not easy to find any street parking open but there is a parking structure about a half mile away.
MoreThis is a great smaller venue for concerts, shows, and receptions. We went to a concert and had a fantastic time. It is easy to get close to the stage for a very intimate concert experience. One bit of advice...go to the restroom well before the main act begins (true of any concert) because it can be very difficult to get to the upstairs bathrooms in and kind of quick fashion.
MoreI took my daughter to see Jordan Davis and we had a blast. We felt so secure with all the security. I had gotten premium seating which was great, avoid crowds and you get escorted to your seats, bottle service. My only complaint would be the bathroom situation, it is located upstairs and difficulty to maneuver through the crowd to get to. All in all though, it was a nice venue! great sound system!
MoreA complaint has been filed against The Varsity for making me leave a venue with my dog. I told them I had his papers and they refused to review them - legally they aren’t even allowed to ask me, I offered them and they still said no. Everyone working seemed very callous and extremely insensitive. I would give the place a zero rating if I could.... 1 one is being too kind.
MoreWe were here for a wedding reception. Had food catered from the Loring which is next door...possibly same owners? It was beautiful. Bartenders were very nice. Bathrooms were cool. The whole venue was amazing and eclectic.
