Walking into the Orpheum is like stepping into the past. Reminiscent of some Broadway theaters, the Orpheum retains its historic charm with huge chandeliers, 1920’s decor, and classic color schemes. The staff we encountered were all great. Many snacks and beverages, including a variety of adult beverages, were available before the show and at intermission. Prices were inflated as one would expect. My only complaint is that the leg room in the 100+ year old theater was probably sufficient for the 1920’s, but not so much for the 2020’s. I’m 6’3 but none of the rest of our party was particularly tall, yet we were all really hurting by the time the show was over. And we all regularly attend plays in other theaters. We’d love to attend more shows at the Orpheum, but I honestly don’t know if my body could tolerate it again. Two thumbs partially up. -The PowerTrippers

Took my nieces here to see Les miserables the most recent time. The staff is great. The theatre is beautiful m, the seats are small and tight, parking not the easiest so be ready to walk. We had a blast and always do here

I was in town for a few days putting on a couple of shows at the Orpheum and was stunned not only by the beauty and quality of the interior, but also the helpfulness of the employees there and the hospitality of the locals generally. It’s a wonderful venue - thanks for making me and everyone else feel so welcome!

The Orpheum is the place to go in the Twin Cities to watch touring Broadway productions. Highlights of the 2024-2025 season include Back to the Future, Life of Pi, &Juliet, Kimberly Akimbo, Beauty and the Beast, and the world premiere of Purple Rain featuring the music of Minnesota’s own Prince and the Revolution. The Orpheum is a beautiful venue but does has its issues as others have pointed out. Sightlines aren’t great. There is always a head in front of me blocking half of the stage. Seats are with little leg room (says the 5’7” guy) and are too narrow and close together so no elbow room. The line for the ladies room is outrageously long at intermission. Pre-order your intermission drinks before the show to maximize your time at intermission.

I saw Book of Mormon on Sun Dec 8. It was an amazing show, I just wish I had been able to see the stage! I was in the balcony and had a guy’s head in front of me for the ENTIRE first act (I switched seats at intermission!) If I had just sat back and looked straight forward, I wouldn’t have seen anything. I had to constantly maneuver around this guy’s head to see the stage. I’ve sat on the floor multiple times here and they have the exact same problem. It’s not just because I’m short- the staggering of seats is god awful! It’s a beautiful historic theater but they NEED to address the sightlines situation. Looking at other reviews, I KNOW i’m not the only one. Wish I had taken a picture so you could see how bad it was!
