tripadvisorYou must go and see the Armstrong Browning library and museum at the Baylor University. The whole building is a site to see. The 62 stained glass windows, the bronze front doors, The foyer of mediation, the treasure room and lots more. Take a seat in the meditation room and breathe in the history and contemplate life and god. Its all a homage to the poet Robert Browning, a collection by Dr A Joseph Armstrong who was the head of the English dept from 1912-1952. The research library were the students can go and study must be amazing to use everyday. Friendly helpful staff at both entrances will give you useful info and leaflets. It can be a bit hard to find parking but there is meter parking a few streets away.
MoreSo much history in an absolutely gorgeous building. We explored from the basement to the balcony overlooking the ballroom. Book collections, stained glass windows, marble…this place is great for those who love books, architecture and history all in the same location
MoreVery interesting speciality library & museum on Baylor University Campus. The staff were extremely friendly. If you choose to visit and you have a car, please be sure to sign up for a parking pass with the university.
MoreWe had the most interesting woman give us a wonderful background about the library/museum. We thought we would go in, take a quick look, and leave. A good hour later…. The stained glass windows are stunning, the facility beautiful, and many artifacts to see. Well worth the time.
MoreWe went on a tour with Sherry, which lasted around 1-1/2 hours. This is a beautiful library housing a collection of antiques, personal belongs, furniture, letters, and art work belonging to Robert Browning and Elizabeth Barrett Browning. The history is interesting and informative. You could probably visit the library on your own, but, if possible, schedule a docent led tour to get the most out of your visit. Located on the Baylor campus. There is free street parking around the building.
