There is something about the atmosphere here that I love. The group takes great pride in it, so it is always sparkling, but it also has an old-fashioned aura that is comforting, pleasant. I go for the antique show, but I always look forward to simply being in the building. The military staff are always so polite. There is parking in the Legislative Office Building parking deck.

This place was a great venue to play the Atlantic Regional Tournament. You can also look around at some of the history.

We visited the state Capitol and spotted this very interesting building nearby across a small square. On further investigation we discovered it was the Armoury and it looked like we could visit it. However on trying to enter, we were advised that it was permanently closed to visitors and that the museum had been transferred to Washington. So don't waste your time trying to go here.

Security is tight as you would expect at this military facility but it does open up periodically. There are some neat displays on the first floor and the drill shed floor on the second has seen everything in Hartford's history. Try and get lunch in the Officers Club if you can!

Location is poor. Parking is expensive. Not worth the time. There is way too much traffic. Not enough interesting things to see. It is not something worthy of having family time at this location. If you are bored, want to spend a lot on parking and most likely have your car broken into, stolen, ticketed, etc then I'd say make a visit. I rate this location a D-
