Reviews
tripadvisorI agree with everything the former review says, although we went years ago. She is awful. She thinks she's above the guides and, after a sweet woman (who hosted us in her home in Pátzcuaro) cooked an entire meal for our group one night, she left the poor woman holding the bag with her servers standing around for hours while Stephanie no-showed. She's gets mean when she drinks too, gossiping about, beating, and scolding people in the group on a daily basis. She even confronted us one night after she found out we'd told another local how disappointed we were in the trip. The hotels she books are pretty awful...very difficult to navigate for older folks. She just 'lucks out' on things to do each day by counting on the guides and drivers (I could understand her subpar Spanish). She is poorly organized, provides no water or snacks for her clients, brags constantly about her 'collections', and she snuck off to do her own shopping at the market when she easily could have taken us. When it comes to clients, she's cheap. When it comes to herself, she's greedy. There were many older, successful, and well-traveled retirees in our group. They were appalled and disappointed. No one was happy. What a waste of money and a disaster! Just avoid. Find a better tour!
MoreMy 3 friends and I paid $2985 for an 8 day trip. Two other people also signed up. This did not include air or transfers. We didn’t get the itinerary, checklist or hotel list until we pleaded for it a week before departure. Stephanie Schneiderman is knowledgeable about Mexico but very disorganized, passive-aggressive personality, disrespectful to her staff and servers. She shopped throughout the trip for her own pleasure at times holding up the tour. She insulted and talked about your participants. This trip was held together by the local guide and driver. At times, it appeared she didn’t know which community we were visiting. In all my years of travel, I profoundly regret paying so much for hotel rooms that were a step above hostels. Only two hotels were decent. She always bought herself alcohol and asked us to pay for our own. Save your hard earned money and find a different tour company.
