Hector Falls is located on the eastern shoreline of Seneca Lake. The 414 highway is busy and only the upper falls are visible from this viewpoint; there are only a few parking spaces on the south board side. The preferred way to see the the whole of the multitiered falls drop is definitely from the lake from one of the sightseeing cruises. The lower falls are in private property and are therefore inaccessible from the highway.

There is limited parking here but it is a great view from the bridge if you can do it. We took a few pictures and were on our way. Worth the stop for sure!

We saw Hector Falls on many occasions driving back and forth on Rt 414 between our lodging in Montour Falls and the wineries and breweries we were visiting along the southeast and mid coast of Senaca Lake over the course of 2 days. The 250 ft drop of the falls are striking since they come upon you so fast due the topography and the fact the falls are so close to the Seneca Lake shoreline. Unfortunately, there is little room to park so you have to be inventive and careful due to the traffic, but well worth the time. Hector Falls is located only about 3-4 miles north of Watkin Glen on the southeast side of Lake Seneca.

Stayed in Hector and visited the surrounding wineries and Watkins Glen. Had an amazing time with the Mrs. walking around downtown and shopping the local stores. Definitely making this an annual holiday for us.

Easily accessible, right along Rt 414 near the southern end of Seneca Lake. It’s no marked heading south, but there is a sign just before the bridge when heading north. There are a few pull offs on each side; I imagine they fill quickly during peak season. Definitely worth a stop and few quick photos.
