We were in Santa Barbara for a Van Gogh exhibit and other impressionists artists. We saw Chocolate Maya and decided to go in and check out the product. So glad we did. It’s a very small shop. Great ambiance. The chocolates are sold basically by the piece. I will say it’s a bit pricey but so worth it. Best chocolates I have ever eaten. Smooth, creamy, and the flavors are spot on. They have different pieces with different flavors. My favorite was the chocolate infused with Chile. The heat and spice blends perfectly with the chocolate. Each piece has a different flavor theme and are beautifully designed
Morewe walked in and were amazed at the selection of Chocolate and learning that they are hand made and many take 3 days to complete, we bought several and they were very good and as being a member of chocoholics Anonymous, joking, but a chocolate lover this was a perfect place to shop
MoreMaya is the nicest lady/owner and is passionate about her chocolate making process...being from Switzerland is a very good foundation. Receiving her cacao from regions such as Peru, Ecuador, Honduras and Madagascar, Maya creates magnificent flavor combinations that will surely surprise and delight your tastebuds. I recommend taking your chocolate selections to the sitting room adjacent to the shop to enjoy your chocolate. Mainly because you don't want the chocolate to melt and second, you want to take your time and savor every bite. We went once and will return before heading home. If you don't take the time to visit and eat this chocolate which is the best outside of Switzerland (I know...been there and had that chocolate) you are truly missing out on a phenomenal and unforgettable treat. Besides, you deserve it right? I give Maya Chocolate five out of five cacao beans for overall satisfaction!

MoreI bought a box of 8 of these for a friend who hosted me and two friends for drinks at her Santa Barbara house. She nearly swooned when she received them. Such choices! More dark than milk and what flavors, and what beautiful artistry in their construction. Highly recommended for special chocolates.
