The main attraction in this art store towards the west end of Central Avenue is the amazing landscape photography of local artist Bill Tondreau. While the store also has beautiful work by other artists (most especially in the form of wooden furniture), it is the photography, much of it on a grand scale, that stands out. Bill Tondreau has a history of success in the motion picture industry--three Academy Awards--but he appears to have settled now for a life in Albuquerque, sharing the beauty of the local surroundings with those who encounter his photographs--of the Rio Grande valley and the Sandia Mountains in particular. They are truly works of art of the highest quality. Sumer & Dene should be congratulated for bringing his work to public attention.
