tripadvisorGranddaughter's dance recital was in June. The Stevens Center has a interesting interior but the seating is old and somewhat tired. Seats are close together and the rows are also tightly packed. There was a short intermission so I was able to stand, but by the end of the recital my legs were cramping because there was no room to move them around. Lighting and sound system are excellent and there are good sight lines from the seats to the stage and orchestra pit. Stevens Center is part of UNCSA and was slated for a renovation through the state budget process, but the line item(s) did not survive the budget process in 2019 which is a shame becuase a small amount of renovation would restore the Center to its classic beauty and provide adequate seating.
MoreHad a great time seeing BoyzIIMen with the Piedmont Wind Symphony. The ushers were friendly and there was no wait for the ladies room. The orchestra members were also wonderful, as I approached them at intermission about the rehearsal process. The two violinists were patient with my questions and had great insights.
MoreThe Stevens Center is a lovely old historic theatre which now hosts performances of the Piedmont Opera, the Winston-Salem Symphony and those of the UNC School of the Arts.
MoreSecond year in a row visiting The Stevens Center for the North Carolina State Honors Chorus-Elementary concert. The facility is very nice with excellent seating. The facility is not overly large but will seat a few hundred. The acoustics was very good.
MoreMy daughters dance team had their recital it and it was a beautiful place to have it. The facility was easy to navigate through. The place was extremely clean and the workers were very nice. I enjoyed the antique look of the balcony. It is located in downtown near a lot of restaurants and other sights to see
