I had 2 appointments at the same time for my daughter and I for her birthday. They canceled the night before and did nothing to help rectify the situation. In fact, they gave me only about 45 minutes to try to come up with a different plan or they were going to charge me half for the remaining appointment. I would not recommend coming to this location.

On April 14th, I had an unpleasant experience with a staff named Shannon. I questioned Shannon about a charge. As a paying customer, I saw nothing wrong with asking her about this charge. She responded with an attitude and started yelling, very, very unprofessional. Her colleague observed what was happening and assisted. I am thankful that the colleague helped because I felt threatened and concerned for my safety at that moment. I have never experienced being yelled at and disrespected based on a question. Mind you, I smiled and did not present myself as the angry black woman. I even left smiling, scared but smiling. I have been going to this location off and on since 2010. I have never experienced such disrespect or unprofessionalism. The incident was detrimental to my mental health, as I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. I could have easily let this go, but it was the principal. I called the location back on April 14th at 412pm within ten minutes after leaving because I was bothered, not to mention my anxiety was triggered. I wanted to notify the manager and inform her of this situation. When I called the location back, Shannon picked up. I asked her whether I could speak to a Manager/Supervisor. According to Shannon, none were working. I have never been to a place of business (unless independently run) where no manager or supervisor was on site.I called a different location and explained to another manager what had occurred. He notified Massage Envy of this via email on Friday, April 14th, at 5:08 pm. The Assistant Manager called me regarding my concerns on April 17th at 101pm. She was delightful until she tried to justify that what Shannon did was right. She was trying to justify/explain the behavior and why Shannon did what she did. Based on the conversation, though Shannon was in the right, she had no reason to blow up at me for asking a simple question. Shannon also could have better explained herself as her colleague who assisted her did. This conversation got me upset all over again. As a professional, instead of making excuses for your employee, address the problem, apologize, and move on. The manager, Abigail, refuses to compensate me for my unpleasant experience. It is hurtful that I will not renew my membership due to my feeling wrongfully treated, and nothing was done about it. Again, it's the principal. I am a customer, and I deserve to be treated with respect. Abigail stated that she would not compensate me, and I couldn't end my membership(per the contract, it ends next month). The massage therapist by the name of David was phenomenal! He was the best masseuse I've ever had. This hurts, and I hope to find a location that respects me as a paying customer because no matter how my money is earned, I work hard for it and deserve respect. This review brings me peace because I speak up for myself and others who look like me and are disrespected. I know my worth!

Good therapists BUT... in January 2023 this location instituted a $15 surcharge on any ME member who does not have Southpoint listed as their home location. If you are booking online, it does not tell you that. So unless your home location is Southpoint, you might be better off at a different location.

Message therapists are great. some of the front desk staff is also great, but overall service sucks. I have been a member over 4 years now. Even during covid I would pay and all of a sudden they don't have appointments. Front desk person told me, I would get a facial if I were you since we have those appointments. I have not had a a message since June and every time I call for an appointment I am told we don't have anything available. They have been charging every month religiously though :). I found out that they have blocked some appointment sessions so they can recruit new members. Any new members if you are thinking of joining, please rethink

We joined ME over 10 years ago and have been loyal, subscription paying members - we even voluntarily paid during the pandemic. Unfortunately my husband is still not comfortable returning to getting his monthly massages but ME refuses to transfer his credits to me (something we were told we could do when we signed our original contract). When I called to request this, I was told I would need to call each month and request that they make a transfer and they would transfer just 1 each month AND a they would charge me $10 to make the transfer. None of that was in our original contract and the salesperson we dealt with told us we could transfer unused credits to anyone in our family anytime. since this was not what we agreed to when we signed our contract, I asked to have the manager call me to discuss this change. The manager has not bothered to call me and this remains an unresolved issue. Meanwhile, ME continues to collect from my husband each month and even raised the monthly rate. I suggest you find some other massage provider rather than deal with Massage Envy!
