Cannonsburgh Village Landmark ·$

Just outside of Nashville is this small reconstruction of a pioneer settlement. It was from this settlement that the city of Murfreesboro grew. Named after the first Whig governor of Tennessee, Cannonsburgh Village features log homes, a gristmill, a schoolhouse, a town hall, a blacksmith's shop, a church and a museum. Inside, each building looks as it did in the early 1800s. The camp is open to the public all year round. If you come in July, you can enjoy the weekend long festival of music and handmade crafts known as Uncle Dave Macon Days.

This exhibit was just amazing. The guy in the welcoming center (not sure if I ever got his name, unfortunately) and the property cat, Chelsea offer great friendliness and a short quip of interesting information on what you can see before you explore solo. Not captured in my photos are a cute church, train, old shop, blacksmith, a tractor field, the oldest toll bridge, and the world’s largest CEDAR BUCKET! All but 2 buildings here were of the original county. Good for any type of group or on your own. There was also a wedding going on here while I was there!

A lovely (and very well-kept) village with many historic buildings and artifacts. Tim, in the visitors center, was so helpful! We’ll be back!

Had a wonderful, relaxing time at this quaint historical village with my sister and nephew. There are no fees to visit unless you want a guided tour from one of the well-informed and very friendly staff. It's a beautiful area with many interesting sights and historical buildings, rich in history of the local area. A very pleasant and personable staff member there named Tim gave us a quick rundown of the essential history of the village and was very hospitable to us. There is a nice gift shop inside at the entrance for different souvenirs and an adorable cat that serves as an unofficial mascot of the establishment. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to spend an hour or two walking amongst history and nature for the price of nothing but a smile .

My daughter wanted to explore old homes and buildings due to her interest in history. This was a great little village to do just that. She really enjoyed her day. In fact, she wants to go back again. The staff (Tim) was also very nice and helpful.
