tripadvisorAn art gallery focusing on more urban art. Work changes in the gallery ever two months or so and there is a small stage for intimate performances that are held through out the year. Live performances have cover fees and when there is no performance gallery is free to enter.
MoreOn the way to the quilt and textile museum, I chanced upon this gallery. It had two small exhibitions on display, the artworks were for sale, but not really something I could appreciate. But I loved the murals painted on the outside of the building. The murals can be found on the side of the building where the parking lot is.
MoreOn this app it says its open and I went by there today and the doors were closed. I was really looking forward to seeing this gallery too.
MoreOK - One wonders at first what it is - Its not your glamorous looking art galleries you see in San Francisco or Carmel. and with the billboard saying Anno Domini Latino Toons one does not immediately think art gallery. But once one enters and see the art, its very good. Latino Toons is the current exhibit; they rotate throughout the year with different artists. They specialize in urban contemporary art. Its in the SOFA area of San Jose. SOFA is The South First Area. It is San Jose's version of visual arts and entertainment district.
MoreSan José not really the hippest place in California so a real treat to find this friendly gallery. We chanced upon an exhibition of cutting edge graphic art but I am sure whatever they show will be of interest if you are visiting the city.
