Joe Johnston's Farm Grill brings a fresh look on urban gardening, local foods and historic preservation, all rolled into one. This restaurant space is the old Johnston family home, reconverted in a Mid-century modern design with exposed brick walls and plenty of dining tables. Outside, the picnic tables are located under massive trees and the garden where it sources many of its ingredients is right nearby. Almost everything in the kitchen is handmade, from the pickles on the burgers to the breading on the onion rings, and the restaurant even makes its own sauces. In addition to the Grill, visitors can buy produce at the next door market on certain days, and the adjacent Coffee Shop is perfect for Sunday brunch.
