This park is part of the Greenway system. It could be so much more! After recent rains, of course the mosquitoes were out in full force! While there is paved paths, there is trash when you start your walk-the trash cans get overturned and no one cleans up the trash from off the paths. The river beds are fun to explore, but don’t that anymore as people with garbage bags have been using the river bed as a walkway (and nope not for cleaning up the river bed). People who you meet along the way are very Nice! Depending on the day, there can be a lot of traffic (walking, biking and dog walkers) All very nice. This is a heavily used park, with a little maintenance-it could be an even better park!

A great place to walk, run, or take a nice stroll through the woods. You can choose your path based on terrain or difficulty level. Wheelchair accessible and kid friendly! This would be a great place to go with family to explore and get some energy out!

It’s been two years since I last visited the park and since then there has been a few additions to the play park. There is parking but it can get very busy at weekends and holidays. The trails are all well marked and concreted. For those who are wheelchair users, the slopes are graded 1, 2 and 3 which is a good guide as to their difficulty. You might get to see a few deer in the park but they can be quite elusive. Plenty for nature lovers with a few interpretation boards to help you identify plants, animals and birds you might see. The park is connected to other trails around San Antonio but make sure you have plenty of water on a hot day. Although there is a water fountain at the trail head, there aren’t any along the trails. Take the opportunity to be at one with nature and out of the city.

This park has improved over the years. There are several trails to walk along, many accessible by wheelchair, to take the opportunity to see local nature. Many different trees and shrubs such as Mesquite, Live Oak, Cedar Elm and Hackberry. Prickly Pear in abundance. You might get the chance to see wild Deer but most unusually, a domesticated pig! She obviously escaped from somewhere. You can wander off the beaten track but take care as some paths can be slippery or have loose rocks. There is parking, toilets and a play area for children. My only negative comment is that I would have liked more Interpretation Boards. Not being a native to the USA, I can't recognise all the trees and shrubs and had to look online for help. Well worth a visit.
