The best spot for family swimming in Northern Colorado is the beach. The water is warm and the sand is soft. Squint your eyes and use your imagination, and you could be on a summer beach vacation in Colorado! We love this place.

I'm a native of Northern Colorado. I remember having a picnic at North Lake Park in about 1968 and it was great. In later years, I lived about 8 blocks away from the park. Highly recommend.

Great place to stop for picnic, walk around lake, look at art and a trail ride not just for kids. Train is cute for short ride.

we visited twice in our short staysunsets were pretty but the wind came in hardour picnic lunch was the park across (dewayne Webster veteran's park). it was sunday so families had reunions. we found the smaller picnic shelter which still had great views.we walked part of the lake to burn off calories. at high noon, the sun is strong but there was a breeze.

Great park for everyone. Picnic tables, steam train rides, swimming beach w/lifeguard, restrooms, etc.
